Welcome to Wanderitis! We are excited to be able to share some stories from our life on the road. Why is that interesting? I’m not quite sure 🙂
Back in 2016 we sold our house and started living on the road full-time as homeless people. We’ve had numerous people tell us that they live vicariously through us and our many travels. Since we are obviously heavily invested in the way we live, I really don’t find it that interesting. We love it. We get to do lots of cool stuff. I just don’t think most people would want to read about it if they knew what was actually going on.
Why do we travel so much?
Peter has been a professional rope jumper since 1997. He also works as a professional photographer and both jobs keep us on the road all the time. As a result, we’ve had the opportunity to visit some very interesting places around the world. The constant travel over the years has created a strong desire to wander.
With Wanderitis, I’m going to take people at their word. We will be sharing stories of what we actually do. We will be explaining how we do life our way. There will be tips, hiking reviews, and stories of what it’s like to be us. Some may end up being entertaining at our expense. This is primarily because I like to skip “the owners manual” and just want to go out and play. Over the years, this attitude has lead to many great mis-adventures.
This is kind of like the owner’s manual page so if you’ve read this far…good on ya! A couple things you will see on the site.
This is a wanderitis squirrel
I frequently get sidetracked when talking about stuff. I am going to mark these “squirrel” thoughts so they’re obvious. Feel free to skip over these paragraphs since they will be off-track from the main point. Did you realize that puppies use cuteness as a self-defense mechanism?! There’s no way they would ever survive puppyhood without their cuteness.
You will see many stories that involve my good friend Qale. He’s sort of real. Since I don’t want to embarrass anyone, I apply most stories about others to him. And sometimes if I don’t want to admit that I did something really stupid, the story will be about Qale. There will be some very obvious made up stories involving him. However, with very few exceptions, all the stories attributed to him actually happened.
There you go. Not too many directions that are important. Please leave comments on posts if you find them engaging or interesting. If nothing else, we’ll have a great database of stories that we can look back on when we’re oldish.
